Cool device. How do you get the IR detector outside the case? I've built a couple lirc receivers in the past and had to drill a hole in the front of the case and stick it up behind the hole.

with IR you don't really have to put the reciever in the front of the case
usually, it can also work even if you let the reciever dangle in the back of the case. normal reflections (walls / cabinet you stuck your machine info / other furniture) should still be enough

for 19 euros plus shipping, you're far better off just buying an MCE remote... im sure they'll be a similar price, since 19 euros is 40nzd and you can get an mce remote for 60nzd...

as you have an MCE remote. can you add some details here: http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php?t=37249? what is needed? bios options for wakeup? other disadvantages?

at the time i searched for a solution (about 2 years ago) i could only find a toshiba MCE remote for shipping in germany, it was >40€ + shipping & butt ugly
besides i did not like that you can not map the MCE buttons how you want or is this possible?
