Any chance you could post the GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native-1.log file that was missing from the last zip? This is the file that would have shown if it tried to stop the recording or not.

Before I used your alt f4 solution and just killed pvrx2.exe I had live tv continue to record for as long as I have HD space on. If you are interested I can recreate and post logs as well. Maybe there is an issue that are finding out about here..

When i restart the recording service it overwrites the existing GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native.log instead of moving it to GBPVRRecordingService.exe-native-1.log. I did however copy the file just before I restarted the service and renamed it.

Just wanted to follow up to some of the problems I was having from a client just in case it would help somebody. I also noticed that I was I having addtional problems like I couldn't delete from the client and when watching recordings that the comskip marks where not showing up. In the logs I was seeing entries like this.

Quote:2008-09-04 18:26:02.917 VERBOSE [1] Unexpected error deleting file from server: System.Net.Sockets.SocketException: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it fe80::485e:bb6:45d1:bf12%9:7967

Both the server and the client are running Vista and I guess by default they are using IPV6 and for what ever reason it was causing these issues in my setup. I disabled IPV6 and this seems to have fixed both the comskip and not being able to delete.I also quickly retested terminating live tv on the client and the recording stop shortly after as sub said it should.
