I am using the pvr150, Windows 2000 fully patched with the exception of I only did directx 9.0b (not 9.0c). I'm running gbpvr that I downloaded (http://www.gbpvr.com/GBPVR02313.msi) two days ago. I am assuming that is the latest. I downloaded my card drivers from (ftp://ftp.shspvr.com/download/wintv-pvr_....22316.zip).

Anyway.. LiveTV works great. I have occasional sound sync issues if I FF and RW too much, but that is bearable. The problem is that my scheduled recordings don't always have sound. I have verified on other televisions that sound is indeed included for those programs. I have also verified using Win Media player that no sound comes from those MPEGs. Other scheduled recordings are great, no problem at all. Any ideas or suggestions? I am away from my PVR atm, so if you need more information about my setup I will be glad to provide later today.

I had been using directx 9.0c, but post on this message board led me to believe that was a no no, so I redid things to try 9.0b and still had the problems. The reason I didn't use the CD drivers is because I had read in several places int his forum that the ones that were coming shipped with the pvr150 were buggy, so I went there to get the latest. I will try the CD as you suggest.. Do you know of a way to effectively remove current drivers? I click "Uninstall" under device manager and I know that they are still on disk.

I was reading the shspvr forum and heard that there are problems with the Audio Detection on pvr150. The shows that have sound cut out are Cartoons. My theory is that cartoons in general have LOUD volume levels as is, but could they be causing pvr150 to exceed allowable threshold and remove sound completely?

I have discovered something. Not all channels viewed by my PVR have sound. Its not just recoding. WinTV2000 app doesn't have sound on some channels as well. This let me to believe faulty install... So I blew WinTV2000 away along with drivers (using the hcwclean.exe? app). I went ahead and put the driver from CD on and it still had problem. Anyway, I still have sound issue. Most shows I want to record are on the non-sound channels.

Only other thing I can think of is directx.. Hauppauge ships with version 8.1. I'll try going back to that version and seeing what happens. Any other suggestions? I'm almost at the point of switching to linux to see if the custom driver just produced by ivtv has any better luck.

I had simular problems with my pvr 150 ( it only a coulpe weeks old) I just went to hauppauger website downloade the newest drivers, wintv2000, fm radio, and the intervideo video codec.. since then I had less problems...

those drivers there are suppose to work on windows 98, 2000, and xp- but I only tried with windows 2000 and xp..

Sash,

I'm relatively new still to my pvr150, so forgive me if I sound stupid. Are the driver on the CD the same thing as the link that says drivers on Hauppauges support page for pvr150? I installed both, as I was told the Hauppauge one was a middlewear between device driver and their wintv2000 applications. Is this true? Could you step me through what I should install in order, from the CD to the downloaded things you obtained on that website. I'm encouraged that you got it right, but just dont' want to get it wrong do to a trivial misunderstanding on my part.

I did some surfing and found this post that sounds similar to mine. When I get the chance I will try out what they are saying as well. Who knows [Image: smile.gif]

Just incase anyone else has this problem, the problem ended up being what I linked to in the previous post. Not solved exactly the same way however...

Basically, some of the channels we're slightly no on the correct frequency, even though I'm using cable tv and live in US. For example Cartoon Network was 300.500 Mhz, where-as it should have been 301.500 Mhz.

To figure out the correct frequencies, I used WinTV2000, to scan for frequencies. I then clicked through the frequencies and identified the ones without sound. WinTV2000 gives you the ability to edit the frequencies by hand and "Fine Tune" then. I noticed that all of the frequencies w/o sound appeared to be off by - 1.0 Mhz. I wrote each of these correct frequencies down. With those, I followed http://www.bladerhq.com/pmwiki/pmwiki.ph...Assistant, on how to override the current ones by modifying the registry. Hope this helps someone out there.
