I now live at my sisters house, and internet finally works here!!!!!
she has ATT U-verse here, so gbpvr does not work.
I may soon take the offer FEMA gave to help pay for an apartment.

the pic on the first page is not far from my house.
I have seen the previous water line at the dairy queen many times.
it is from Alicia.

the outside of the house looks fine except for the broken tree.
the inside of the house is trashed.
the rising water filled the bathroom sinks with mud.
fortunatly the computers and TVs were on high shelves.
they are now in a storage unit.
some of what filled the house came in through the sewage, so the smell is memorable.
if we fix the house, ALL drywall, insulation, and furnishings will have to be replaced.
in the driveway was my project truck.
it has a 8" lift and oversized tires, and the cupholders are filled with mud.

agidius, my sympathies for what you're going thru. Seems most of the country has already forgotten but only those who've lived thru the misery can understand. It's also hard to believe that many in the rest of the world live worse than that but that doesn't make it any better.
3 years later my business is still down almost 30% and if Katrina didn't hurt it, the economy surely will.
