I am new to GBPVR just having installed MVP a few days ago (so please bear with me, if my questions are silly), running a PVR350 on the server. First of all: Congratulations to the folks who have developed GBPVR [Image: biggrin.gif]. IMHO the concept and the implementation is far superior to the software delivered by Hauppauge.

So far, about everything works fine. At the moment I encounter the problem that it seems that my channels are somehow messed up. I ran the TuningAssistent and edited the file channels.xml entering the channel ids. Then I updated my EPG with XMLTV. Now I realized that, when recording, for instance a specific program a different channels is recorded. I am quite sure that the channels are entered correctly in channels.xml.

On the Wiki I read something about editing the registry. I am a bit puzzled now. Is it sufficient to edit channels.xml, appropriately?
Did I miss something? Do I have to edit the registry?

Any help would be highly appreciated.

tmk

What is channels.xml? I dont think that is one of mine.

What you should do is select to edit the capture source, then edit the list of channels shown, entering the correct channel number for each channel. What exactly should these channel numbers be? They should be set to the correct channel number shown by the tuning assistant. For example, if the tuning assistant shows MTV at channel 15, then enter 15 next to MTV (even though you may know as a different channel number on your remote).

Unfortunately the term "channel number" means different things to consumer and to TV tuner.

That's it! I read about channels.xml in a different forum (I think it was the myhtpc forum). This brought me on a wrong track.

After editing the channel numbers in the "capture source", everything works fine. [Image: biggrin.gif] [Image: biggrin.gif] [Image: biggrin.gif] [Image: biggrin.gif] [Image: biggrin.gif]

This software is absolutely brilliant......

Thanks a lot!!!!
