Hey guys,

Got my HD-PVR, and was wondering if anyone has gotten the included IR blaster to successfully and reliably change channels on a cable or satellite set top box with GB-PVR's haupblaster.exe? I've heard success with the USB-URT thing, but didn't want to spend another $50 after buying a Harmony remote.

Thanks

Does your set top box have a firewire port? I was, at first, going to go with the Ir Blaster, but got channel changing working via firewire. It was a lot easier than I thought and works great.

I actually have gotten the included IR Blaster to work successfully. Pretty easy to configure, just setup the BlastCfg that came with the disk to your STB and then select the .exe changer in the gbpvr config and point it to HaupBlast.exe in the gbpvr directory. Only problem I have encountered is that there is a delay from when it starts recording and the actual channel changing causing a screwed up begining of the file which gbpvr can not play (at least for me). Works fine if you try to play the file in Arcsoft Total Media. Gonna try smajor's tips on getting the firewire working to see if that solves my playback issues, just gotta wait for the firewire card to arrive. Good Luck.
