external dual analog card?

Hey guys,

Total newb to the DIY DVR thing, but Ive read a bunch of stuff so I think Im on my way to getting a system going for myself..

I've got an extra laptop thats just sittin around that I want to hook up to my analog cable. I think Ive got everything covered, but I'd like to ultimately have the functionality to record one channel while watching another. I know GB-PVR can support this, but Im having a hard time finding a dual external card. Anyone have any experience with this?

i havent seen any
its hard enough just trying to find a single external analog card
it has to have hardware mpeg encoding
the only single tuner usb one i know of the is hauppauge one

I do not know if they still make them but adaptec had a external usb dual tuner with hardware encoding.

Grab 2 hauppauge PVR-USB's. Hardware mpeg-2, and if the laptop's hard drive can handle the write speed (might have to play with the bitrate), should work fine.
