Daily Scheduled EPG Update Doesn't Happen

If you've changed EPG sources, you may find it has slightly different channel names to your old epg source, causing the real listings to be on new channels at the end off the list, leaving your old channels in the database but with no listings.

It looks like the EPG updated happens correctly, and it pulls in a large number of listings.

hey guys, sorry to resurrect this old thread but I'm having a similar problem as the OP and I think it may be related to permissions that the recording service has or doesn't have.

I used to use Schedules Direct and the automatically scheduled updating always worked fine. I switched to XMLTV because it's free. I'm using yapi2xml, as suggested in the GBPVR wiki. It will update fine if I execute the update from the system menu from within PVRX2, but it always fails to update the EPG using the automatic updating.

I have attached my GBPVRRecordingService.exe logs. My EPG update it supposed to occur at 5:00 AM every night. Thanks for any help.

I'm not sure but I think Yapi needs the recording service set to 'interact with desktop'

I don't believe the wiki recommends the Yapi downloader. It just mentions that it exists. In fact as the developer (away serving his country) isn't keeping up with the program and the protocols themselves are notoriously flaky, we might want to recommend NOT using it. (sorry if that's too harsh, -OZ- !!!)

Many people are using mc2xml. Though, one should know that any of the free scrapers/downloaders are legally 'grey'...
