I have a Compro S350 card at present which I am replacing as it doesnt work very well with GBPVR and doesnt seem to work with HD channels.

I have on order with Dell 2 off Hauppauge WinTV-NOVA-HD-S2 at £40 each inc vat and shipping, but the leadtime keeps slipping.

Question is should I hold fire and wait for these cards, or is there a better alternative for similar money.

I'm after twin tunder with true HD support.

thanks.

I have an S350 and it works with BBC HD, ITV HD and Luxe HD (the remainder in the UK are encrypted AFAIK).
It works fine with gbpvr except for channel scanning where it produces "unknown" for all te channel names. "borrowing" someone elses cache.dat file works fine though.

I have a twin tuner Pinnacle card that although it has a BDA driver, gbpvr doesn't like it.
I think the S2 has caused a few problems in its own right (try this search in google, it seems to search better than vbulletin

Martin, I thinkit was your cache file I used, which worked a treat thanks.

The two problems have is HD which isnt a major worry at present but have read newer services will require the S2 signal.

My main problem is recording all file sizes are either 0kb, or 6kb, whichever MUX I use, this may not be related to the card, but whatever I have tried I cannot fix.

I think when recording HD gbpvr automatically forces TS MUX and this is built in. (I have it setup to use mpg with cyberlink mux and recordings are all .mpg except HP which are .ts)
I've been trying my Pinnacle twin tuner card again and end up with 0 or 8kb files - most frustrating, so I know how you feel!
I have to say that so far the s350 has recorded everything I've asked it to, including 35gb of the Olympic opening on BBC HD when it was on.

Martin

I sat down last night and spent a few hours on this, managed to get BBC channesl recording, by reinstalling DVR-MS, and the S3450 driver, think the later fixed the problem.

Cannot view any ITV channels though guess they have encryption on, or my scan file is now out of date. Read something about using channesl further up the list, but wen I look for CITV only one is found.

Any ideas?

I have a feeling I read the ITV had moved some channels around.
I don't normally include them in my s350 list as they are well enough covered with my dual dvb-t tuner. I'll have a look tonight and see if I can find them and post a tiny cache file.
If I only have time to sort one out, which ITV region would you prefer?

Pob posted a recent scan here which solved my ITV1 problems. I lost mine as they are playing musical TPs at the moment, encrypting some regions but leaving enough unencrypted for Freesat...
