Hi Sub,

I'm afraid I still do not get any audio when watching MPEG-2 broadcasts. This is the same as 1.2.13.

I'm using the client/server setup with file sharing and the MPA/V video decoders. If I use the same PC for recording and playback (non client/server) then I get audio, I notice here though that TSMon is used instead of the GBPVR TS Reader. Again, this is all as per my experiences with 1.2.13.

Live TV plays back with audio perfectly on the NMT and if I try to play the buffer file using VLC, so it looks like there's a problem with the TS Reader. The file sizes and dates have changed and I've also re-registered filters + restarted.

If I load the .ts file using the GBPVR Ts Reader and add the MPEG-2 demultiplexer to a graph manually I get no audio, when I use the same file with another splitter, like Haali then I do get audio.

When I analyse the .ts file I notice there are two audio streams, but VLC tries to play the first one and by the looks of the logs, so does GBPVR. VLC however plays back silent audio when I select the second stream.

I've uploaded a test .ts and logs to http://www.peely.com/temp/noaudio.zip in the hope that you are able to help.

Thanks,

Neil.

Have you tried any other audio decoders? It sounds like a decoder related problem.

I have, and those decoders are used if I try to render using the Haali splitter, which works fine. It doesn't matter which decoders I put onto the graph, if the GBPVR TS Reader is used I get no audio.

I'm aware of a reason the MPA decoder doesnt connect with the GBPVR TS Reader, but most other audio decoders should be fine, and everyone else is getting audio, so I'm pretty sure it is just a case of finding another audio decoder.

Hi Sub,

So far I've tried ffdshow, nvidia, cyberlink and the MPA Audio decoder which I think is reccomended here. None work. Is there another codec you could reccomend? Also, do you think there is a patch for the MPEG-2 Demux from MS? The file date on my mpg2splt.ax is August 2004.

Also, as previsouly mentioned the GBPVR TS Reader from your March release (or at whenever two releases ago was) works perfectly, it's just this release and the prior release that doesn't work. If I use another file reader and demux (such as Haali), the same codecs render perfectly.

I'm not sure if anyone else in the UK runs a client-server setup, but as explained I have no problems when using a single seat setup.

Thanks,

Neil.

Post your logs showing the attempt to use the Cyberlink decoder and I'll take a look.

A while ago, when I was using a PC client, I could only watch recorded material via file share, and livetv via streaming (or vise versa)

I never thought it was serious for me, as I hardly ever watched LiveTV...

At one time I was going to suggest having different choices for recorded and live, but thought better of it...
