That's only a hundred dollars more than a Popcorn Hour...!

But then that would mean nagging sub to fix a couple of PC Client problems....Big Grin

I like this! The size of a PCH and the complications of a real PC with a obsolescent OS. Hours of fun.

But seriously, this might be the real deal, especially if the video really works and it runs GBPVR "natively".

I'm thinking for people who want, I don't know, game controllers attached to their STB?

Plus, 1GB network? No prob for streaming.

But yes, I have yet to get client running for myself on an XP home PC.

i find it funny they're using a 3400 chip on board...wondering if it's that one they used in their own boards or a 'real' 3400?
looks like a real 3400 cuz it's an intel chipset mboard...Smile
[i wished they'd just done that with the amd board!]
[and the hdmi is on adapter? like regular 3450..tho it suggests hdmi native and dvi on adapter?! lol]
seeing as this thing only has a 36w adapter, i fail to see any advantage in having it 'inside' the chipset..Big Grin

yes, i think this is the 'perfect' client...will be hard to beat this in quietness, low power, and simplicity and size...

may even be able to run gbpvr off the EEE [ram?] drive...[i think it's just a readyboost, builtin]

oh and if the promise ofaccelerated transcodes with cat 8.12 is comes true, then the low cpu horsepower won't matter much either..Big Grin
[tho i wish they'd gone with the dual core atom 330 instead, it should be fine as is]
wish could get one without a drive in it tho...

will have to see if bluray drives will work over usb2 wthout too much fuss cuz this system should be able to no problem...

then have this mounted to back of tv, and bluray drive sitting visible out front and that's it..Smile

I'm also very interested in an eee box. I even wonder if it could be used as main gbpvr machine, not just as a client. With tv tuner and some extra storage on USB?
