the 3xxx and up i havent heard bad things about

its just the dual core machines make watching video so much better because it gives the option of not having to use the gpu acceleration which doesnt alway do the best job with all video formats
you can have the hardware accel turned off and still be running other things without a glitch
So, I've got a quad-core Phenom - you say turning off HW acceleration and letting the CPU do the decoding is better?

No go on the HD via AGP. It's most likely my processor, which is only 1.8Ghz. The quality was better, but it still had way too much chop.

Parts for the new system are already on the way, and the AGP cards are back to Amazon. When experimenting, always buy from someplace that take returns.

Sorry it didn't work for you. My HD Via AGP works well but then again I have a dual core and had a phantom dual core on my old system.
