Where Do I Start

Just waiting on my PV250 card and once I have my GBPVR setup, I am gunna attempt to write some plugins.

I program in VB6 for a living. I believe that GBPVR is written in .Net.

So where can I get .net from?

Would the transition from vb6 to .net be difficult?

Hi CornStopper. A good starting place is downloading some of the plugins with source code from http://gbpvr.bladerhq.com, try them out, then take a look at the code to see how they work. The comics plugin is a nice simple one.

Most are written in c#, but its also possible to write them in vb.net.

If you have programmed in C++ then you shouldn't have a problem either using VB.NET or C#.NET. If you aren't going to be using Visual Studio .NET or don't have it, then you'll need to download the .NET 1.1 SDK (Don't get the 2.0 Beta as GBPVR won't work with it). After that you can get either SharpDevelop or Borland C# Builder Personal Edition. Both are free and decent IDE's.

Then as Sub suggested, get some sample source, go through JasonF's tutorial, and just start coding away.

Cheers Sub and KingArgyle. Will D/L the SDK and will go for the Borland C# ide. Have used borland 'c' compilers/ide's in the past.

Hopefully soon I will be posting a plugin soon. Do not know what it will be. But once I have got to grips with how it's done, I'll think of a idea.
