2250 dual setup

I've got one of the digital tuners set up correctly, I think. Took me a bit, but I can map the digital channels (ATSC). Now when I map digital to EPG on tuner1 it runs through 68 channels and finds everything. When I do the same on tuner2 it goes through 138 channels and doesn't find anything.

Seems the 68 vs 138 might be a clue? I did uninstall all the hauppage stuff as I did have a 350 prior and couldn't map any channels (at least consistently) but puzzled so far on the difference between the two tuners. I've got the same EPG source listed for both (is that correct?) looked at the ini file and they look to be the same? Do I have one set up for QAM (not sure what that is) and the other for ATSC?

QAM is for digital cable, and scans to 138. ATSC is for over the air digital, received via your antenna, and scans to 68. This device only has one input, so both capture sources should be set the same. You need to set the second tuner to ATSC instead of QAM.

I think I'm missing something. Where do I set that? (QAM vs ATSC)

When you selected the capture source card type, the 2250 was listed twice. One was the QAM option, the other was the ATSC option.

Now, the next issue. Should I be able to go into TV guide and select two shows playing now and tell it to record? I keep getting a message about a conflict.

I'll keep looking, but really, really appreciate all the help.

In your capture device settings, you probably have both of them set to Device #1. Change one to Device #2 (doesnt matter which one since they both use the same input).

I had them set correctly, I think there was a reboot needed. I think it is working now.

Are you having the issue I have where you cannot go directly from digital to analog in live tv?

What operating system are you running?

I'm trying to be strictly digital. XP. Seems to be working fine now. I didn't get that I had picked one to be QAM, once I did that and rebooted all seems ok.

just out of curiosity, why switching back and forth between digital and analog?
