Hi all,

I currently have a PVR-150 tuner on my GB-PVR installation and the Hauppauge IR blaster unfortunately seems to be unable to control my new cable STB (Pioneer Voyager 3510 on Time Warner). I wanted to get a new remote/IR Blaster combo to control this box, and I was wondering if the following kit will work with GB-PVR (I was still unsure after reading the wiki)?

That should work fine. The remote looks the same as the one that came with my HVR-1800 MCE kit, blaster looks different but has the same ports.

That said, I didn't like the feel of the actual remote (felt cheap, buttons are small). However, if you use HIP (or EventGhost) you can use ANY remote with the IR receiver.
I'm using XP and the MCE remote replacement driver.

Before you get a new remote, have you tried testing your PVR-150 blaster by taking off the purple cover and any STB plastic pane covering the STB IR bulb, and attaching the two via tape? The PVR-150 blaster is notoriously weak. Also, make sure the blaster bulb lights up when you send a blast. I had 2 blaster cables, and one of them was broken.

I've already tried removing the cover on the IR blaster and I can see the diode flash when I use the Hauppauge Blaster setup utility. I've already tried taping it to the STB's receptor, but no code seems to work with it.

I know the Microsoft ones work. I just got one from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-MICROSOFT-REMOTE...dZViewItem

Free shipping and it came in two days.

Gotcha.....another benefit to the MCE remote is that you should be able to wake the machine with it...can't do that with the PVR-150 remote.
