The main reason I am using GB-PVR is that it allows me to select and play my movies pretty well. A lot better than MediaPortal, for example.
There is one issue that occurs when you try and select a video to play. I use list mode. I store my TV Shows (say) in a folder structure something like
Video
-- TV Shows
--- Friends
---- Season 1
---- Season 2
---- Season 2
S02E01.avi
S02E02.avi
S02E03.avi
This is a fairly standard naming convention. The problem is that when GB-PVR navigates down through the menu structure, but the time you get to the actual video files themselves, you have no idea where you are.
It would be a good idea if you displayed at the top of the screen the 'breadcrumb' list - to use a term from web design. ie display something like
TV Shows | Friends | Season 2
I sort movies into similar sub folders (ie Action, Kids, etc).
Another small visual issue - in List mode you display the list with square brackets around each item. ie
[Friends]
[Monk]
This is a bit off-putting. Why not simply leave them out?
