Hi all!

I am ever so confused! I have Hauppauge WinTV PVR2 USB2, and I know that it's working correctly because I have the software installed and am seeing the signal. However, I'm not happy with their software and thought I'd give this a try.

To make this easier, I'm adding screencaps of what I have set up:

Now, obviously I'm missing something, because when I switch to the channels tab I have nothing. Incidentally, all I really want is to pick up channel 3, the channel that I have my digital cable running through. What I'm doing is running the video that I'm actually seeing on my tv, through to my computer so I can see it here and record it. I'm recording clips of shows, and also clips of shows that I have saved on my digital PVR.

Could someone please help me with this? :o

you need a epg source otherwise you dont get any channels showing up in the big blank area below where it says channels

it should be added as a analog recording plugin and tick the box that says only show devices atteched to this machine this will let you know yo uhave selected the correct device

Wow, that was fast! That's what I was thinking, and I'm trying to figure that out right now. So, even though "I" functionally don't need it, the software does?

its called gb pvr for a reason Smile
you can add channels yourself if you use the tuning assistant but honestly you are missing 99% of why gbpvr is so easy to use for recording if you dont have epg source
its worth the money if you have to pay for the data although do a search there are free sources

Up and running! I'm sorry if that seemed a bit obvious, I just wasn't entirely sure from what I was reading. Thanks for your help!
