Sorry, I dont know. The logs look fine. Do you get any audio playing any files in GB-PVR?

Do I get any what ?

I can play wmv, mkv, avi, mpeg files without problems. Even .TS files from this one channel broadcasting AC3 audio.

The .TS files from other stations (which have no audio in GB-PVR 1.3.11) work fine in WMP and previous version GBPVR (1.3.7 if I recall).

It is also very much 1.3.11 related. I restored a system backup from before the 1.3.11 upgrade, and the problem is reproduceable. After restoring audio works, and after reinstalling 1.3.11 the audio problem returns.

The decoders are pretty much the same as my other box which does not have the problem:
Nvidia Decoder is the same.
Intervideo Non-CSS is the same.
CoreAVC including Haali Mediasplitter is the same.
FFDShow is not installed on the working machine, but uninstalling it on the bad one made no difference.

Any ideas at all as to how to proceed here ? Please ?

I really really wanted the improvements you listed for the 1.3.11 release. I use the multi-record feature. I often have freezes (need to skip back/forward) and stuttering when playing back my DVB-T recordings, and I occationally run into the half-speed audio problem as well.

play it in graph edit and see what is been used
then use gspot to change the merrit of your decoders

powerdvd8 is a really good video decoder
and nvidia for audio

save a copy of a config file that works in previous version then install 1.3.11 then use the saved config file to see if it will play

Sorry, I'm not really sure what to recommend. I havnt seen any other reports or missing audio in 1.3.11 (+ current survival guide patches) that werent fixed with decoder. Make sure you've applied those survival guide patches, even if you dont think it relates to your specific problem.

I did install those patches, as stated earlier.

OK, I'm working on the restored system now (1.3.7 GBPVR). In MSDecoders Checkup utility I have set Nvidia as preffered (other choice there is Intervideo Non-CSS).
In Graphedit, it does however select Intervideo for video (???) and Nvidia for audio.

In GSpot, I get no information on Audio codecs for my .TS files. I'm not familiar with GSpot (the application...) and don't know how to set merrit for codecs or what is means.
Are you sure GSpot can be used with .TS files ?

OK, I have spend my day troubleshooting this.
I found that analog audio does work on 1.3.11 - it is only SPDIF that goes missing.

So, I tried different options for audio renderer. Same Same.
Tried updating Realtec AC97 drivers (v4.06 from January 2009). Same Same.
Tried uninstalling FFDShow. Same Same.

Next, Tried uninstalling AC3Filter (v0.71) - and hey, then it works. Strange thing is that AC3Filter was not selected in GBPVR config, and was not used according to Graphedit.

Well, I need AC3 Audio for my AVI files. Without FFDShow and AC3filter, I get only 2.ch sound from my AC3 5.1 AVI files. I remember that newer versions of AC3filter did not work for me when I first build this HTPC,

So I downloaded newest FFDShow (from Jan 30th 2009) and installed. Now I get 5.1 from my AVI's, but the problem with missing (SPDIF) audio on non-ac3 .TS files returns. And it does so inspite the fact that I disabled it for MP1, MP2 and MP3 audio in the "Codecs" tap, and the fact that FFDShow is not selected in GBPVR configuration, and not in use according to Graphedit for the files in question (!¤#""#¤¤%!"§!).

There are some days when i truely and deeply HATE this F#$%!NG HTPC shit.

After catching my breath again, I messed arround with FFDShow some more. I played arround with the output options in FFDshow audio configuration, chose "LPCM" instead of the default 16-bit option. Don't know what LPCM is abreviated from but now it works ???!!!). Problem solved, but WHY WHY WHY ???????.

Did I mention that the previous version GBPVR did not have this problem, and neither does windows media player. I think I did.
