Nvidia HDMI Audio Problems.

I've got 1.3.11 GBPVR running well for both playback and live TV. The set is:

Video Decoder: MPV Decoder Filter
Audio Decoder: fddshow Audio Decoder
AC3 Decoder: fddshow Audio Decoder
Audio Renderer: Nvidia High Definition Audio ( versio 1.0.0.37)

The problem is that Youtube videos and Netflix on demand has no sound.

If Netflix on demand is running and I start pvrx2 and play a recording, the sound starts working in IE for Netflix on demand. Same for youtube in IE.

The Control Sound panel shows that Nvidia High Definition Audio is the default device, same default device for Voice.

Its like Netflix and Youtube can't set up the Audio Renderer correctly, but once pvrx2 does the sound starts to work.

Any ideas?

Anyone know the windows calls that pvrx2 makes to setup the filter/render graph before playing back a recording? I may go write my own utility to mimic the setup that pvrx2 performs. I write embedded code for a living, but don't know much about Windows APIs.

Also, dxdiag.exe sound tab works fine.

Appears that "Media Player Classic - Homecinema", version 1.2.972.0, has the same effect as pvrx2.exe. Starting MPC-HC on recorded .ts file while Netflix On Demand is running and the sound starts working for Netflix. Very strange. :confused:

probably merits problem...try setting the audio codec pvrx2 uses as highest merit so windows will use that as default for everything, then try others...
i use gspot to change merits...
tho i remember something about the drivers and audio path problems..may be worth checking driver changelogs for this issue..

Thanks for the idea. Some of the merits editors wouldn't work, but gspot can change the audio renderer merits. I tried changing merits but messed something up and had to recover from a disk image(I think I accidentally unregistered a DirectX component) . I'll give it another go when I have more time.

Maybe I'll just hack the MPC-HC code as it is open source and seems to fix the audio renderer setup.
