Can't change channels - advice? (newbie)

Hi,
First of all - thank you all for advice thus far.
So here's what happens - I hit live TV or guide. Takes about 6 seconds to start displaying video (ATSC OTA on Hauppauge 1250) and things seem to be working great.
Then I try to change a channel, have 5-10 seconds of delay and I'm thrown back to the menu screen. System is an Athlon 4850e, 4GB Ram, 780G mobo with latest drivers on XP. (I installed the aviva drivers and the free-codecs multi plack as advised on some other posts.) CPU load tops out around 38%, even on an NFL game with HD.

If you enable live preview mode does the problem go away?

First of all, thank you for the response.

It does not - I will experiment again with turning live preview mode on and off again tonight though.

Post the logs showing the problem with live preview switched on, and I'll take a look.

Ah sorry - correction. Had to turn off live preview because it created an audio-sync issue. Don't know which one is easier to fix but will post more logs tonight.
