No sound in live tv

Hi all,

I have just installed GBPVR, I get sound no problems on movie playback through GBPVR, but cant get any sound on live TV.

I am able to get sound when running powercinema and all other apps just GBPVR live TV is an issue. I have tried all the codecs I have to no avail.

I am running vista 32

Any help appreciated. wife is mad cause criminal minds is on tommorow and mediaportal was fine (now uninstalled)...ooops

I am pretty sure I had sound on GBPVR until I uninstalled media portal..but I have had a hell of a night trying to sort it before the kids wake up and demand TV that I have no idea whether I am coming or going or I did or didnt

Just a short update , I have sound on TV3, I have mapped digital channels to the others found and for TV3 selected TV3 AC3

So maybe that will help to clear the water,

Still looking for some ideas.

I have the same problem, but only at first turning Live TV on. If I switch channels, I then get sound. Usually, anyway. I just tried it, and that's how it worked, but I thought the previous times I sometimes couldn't get sound at all when Live. This is with OTA HD.

Timeshifting always has sound, so if watching Live, I just watch with a five-second delay. I rarely watch anything live anymore, so it's not a big deal, but misery loves company, so just thought I'd say you're not alone.

If nothing else, maybe turning on full-time timeshifting will have sound and at least keep the family happy for now. If simply checking/unchecking the timeshifting/preview box doesn't work in config, at the very worst you can be recording the show and watch it with a five or 10-second delay. It'd be playing off the hard drive so should have sound. It's not a permanent fix, but hey.

I don't see where you said whether you get sound on recorded shows or not, but that's how mine has been.

tv3 uses ac3 audio aswell as aac
do you have monogram decoder installed
also make sure you have installed all patches on the survival guide

solved the problem

It was caused by lack of monogram codec ( this is installed with mediaportal as standard FYI) thanks for tip

I tried installing the codec manually to no avail, so just reinstalled media portal and left it alone.

GBPVR runs great now, some messing with settings required to get a smooth picture but otherwise all good..
