I'm looking for some full 1080p (1920x1080) content to try and stress my new build a bit. I have found the MS HD Video Showcase but all the clips are a bit short. I need something longer, preferably in H.264. Any suggestions?

While not 100% legal, look for torrents with "1080p" and "sample" in the name. Or maybe just in google itself. Some people may have posted some sample clips.

They are generally around the 100 - 200 mb size range and should give you an idea.

apple.com should have 1080p movie trailers. Don't know the bitrate, but they're 1080p.
I bet Michael Bay uses GBPVR because it's awesome:

I had a look there. I have used VLC to download a .TS stream of a QT trailer (Watchmen trailer 2) and it plays fine in VLC but the HTPC doesn't recognise it. Is there a preferred codec or way to transcode the file to something gbpvr can play?

You don't have quicktime installed on your machine? or quicktime alternative?

If you transcode you could alter the file to make it not 1080p anymore. And I thought you could just download the trailers, not having to stream them off their web site.

How long do you need (remembering that BBC HD runs at around 10gb per hour).

I have installed Quicktime Alternative which allows me to download the .mov files directly. Curious that the default extension that VLC used was .ts, which I've not heard of. Plays fine in VLC, plays without sound in MPC, doesn't play at all in PVRX2. Ho hum, just using the MOV DL Tool to download some nice Hi Def ones to play with.

Also, seems like I'm perfectly able to play 1080p full screen vide on the hardware I currently have, smooth like butter.

Just looking for something longer than the 2 minutes or so that most of the sample footage is. I may just go with a blu-rip.

Try "Elephant's Dreams" or "Big Buck Bunny", they are legal and open licensed and are good tests.
