Just to add I was having this too - Two dual core pc's, server is gigabit, client is 100mb and it was taking about 10 seconds to open recordings, 10 seconds to delete a recording etc... Since changing these settings on the client its nice and snappy. I suspect its due to the number of stored recordings??? I currently have 52 different shows/movies recorded with a total of 132 episodes so I guess it takes a while to scan them all over the lan???
Anyway - no real problem not having the client scanning these and its sooooo much nicer using it from the bedroom now!
