my tv guide is blank as of last night, midnight end of 2/1/2012. I noticed it last evening when i was scanning the guide for shows to record.
I thought a might have a epg data problem and updated my mc2xml, then i checked my xmltv file and it was loaded with data for over 7 days.
I was searching the forums last night and could not find a similar problem.
I thought i was diw but found my reoccurring recording were showing as pending. and found that i could search guide and find shows in the future.
When i got home from work tonight i tried a forced epg update and still had no listing on the guide, just a channel list and blue screen.
I did find that pvrx2 does show the listings in the guide.
the only changes that i have made in the past 2 weeks was in my channel list due to my available channels being changed by comcast. before that the system has not been changed in over 6 months.

my system is an amd 64x2 4400+, 2 gig ram, 1 pvr500, 1 pvr150ir, irserver for blasting to 1 stb and 2 dta boxes
running xp pro sp2 gbpvr 1.0.16
logs are attached.

I have also experienced this after 1st Feb 2011. The TV guide does not show, but can search and set recordings, and pending recordings get recorded.

I am using a very old version of GBPVR 0.97 but I am interested to see it is the same with version 1.0.16 so there is no point in me upgrading to cure this.

I have tried using an old xmltv guide (data.xml) from November 2011 and setting my system clock back to November 2011 and the programme guide shows up perfectly. Comparing the data.xml files they look the same format.

I have made no changes to my set-up so I know its not something I have done. It has been working well for years.

So I am thinking that something in the coding is stopping the guide from showing just because the date has reached 02 Feb 2012.

Have spent some hours working on this so I would appreciate any help on this one.

Unfortunately after rebuilding my machine in December I no longer even have GBPVR on my machine, so I cant fire it up to try reproducing it. Either way, development for GBPVR stopped a couple of years ago, so there isnt anything I'd be able to do about it if there was a bug. Sorry.

You probably dont want to hear it, maybe time to upgrade to NextPVR? At with this you can get bug fixes etc.

GBPVR 0.97 was from 2006. Six years ago. You'd be out of luck getting a patch for that even if I was still developing GBPVR.

Thank you Sub for your quick reply, yes it is time to upgrade. I realise GBPVR is not supported, but it has served me so well over the years. So thank you for that.

Guide data is still fine for me in 1.4.7 (not that I'm using it, but loaded some in to check).

I was hoping it was a simple fix. I know i should upgrade, but I am locked into analog input with external tuners by my cable company and i am afraid the ts file transcoding during the recording process would overtax my system.
I can use the pvrx2 interface and see the guide data, but i have been using gbpvr because I always liked it better than pvrx2. with gbpvr i could see a 4 hour block of tv lisings instead of only 2 hours with pvrx2.
is there a file i can access to edit the tv guide page layout of pvrx2?

I'm using GB-PVR v1.1.5 and the mini-guide has gone empty. I'm using XGuide and as Zoran said it still works. I'm too sick to upgrade gbpvr these days but if someone finds an easy solution to the empty mini-guide please post it in this thread.

I haven't run this, and it almost certainly wont work, but your could try running this version of GBPVR.exe where I've tried to patch a couple of bytes in a hex editor.

Sorry - if it doesnt work, you're out of luck.

I have confirmed it was a bug in the old GBPVR.exe. Unfortunately I cant do anything about. I no longer have the ability to build this application.

Neither PVRX2.exe or the newer NextPVR have this problem.
