You'd end up with one channel, with some merged mess of overlapping show times.

I have several XML EPG files for different sources, each with overlapping guide data for my local channels. For example, I've got a "WXYZ" in my analog cable listing, my QAM LISTING and in a DVB-S listing. In theory, the listings would always be the same - it's the same channel - but the data comes from different places, so sometimes it must be different. That's how it's supposed to work - correct? I did see some odd behavior during the Olympics when some sources seemed to split the coverage at different times than others.

So, if I understand it, GBPVR puts all the overlapping guide data into the Programme table when the same Channel (same "name" in multiple XML files) is available from multiple sources?

It doesnt try to fix any data, it just trusts that you've supplied it the correct data. You should try to make sure you only supply it one set of data for any given channel name, rather than feeding it conflicting data for the one channel - thats the only way you can be sure you'll get a consistent set of listings for that channel.

Thanks! That's a point I hadn't fully understood. Usually, my guide data comes form the same source. Where it comes from multiple sources, I can easily eliminate duplicates.
