The Conax is a general-purpose cam, widly used in Europe and Northern America, and what I was trying to say is that there is no special plugin or add-on in mediaportal to support conax, so there must be a gpp-reader (or at least open-source) to be found.

This is really an application thing, and GB-PVR just doesnt contain the logic required to make the CAM do its thing. The alternative is multidec plugins, but they work differently, so dont work with the proprietary Cinergy API provided to access the CAM reader via your Cinergy card. They need access to the smartcard, not the CAM module. Cinergy only provide access to the CAM via their API (with interactions to the smartcard hidden inside the CAM).
