Any suggestion for a .ts h.264 HD editor. Something simple to chop the start and end would be fine to start with.

I've tried a few feature or time limited demos but they seem to want to recode the file as well and upset aspect ratio's and take forever.

I want to record a series of BBC HD shows that my niece is in and make sure there is plenty of pre and post padding but want to get rid of the excess later on.

VideoRedo is apparently beta testing an H.264 capable version at this very minute.

I think they have for months Wink

I got real exited when the .TS beta came out, only to find it was only for mpeg streams..... Fingers crossed - 5 minutes of pre and post padding is over a gig so saving the series gets messy with DVD's.

I'll have to read up to see what tools are around for shrinking HD stuff without losing too much quality.

I've seen some poeple at another forums saying that it works, and even works with our h.264/he-aac-lc streams

I've just found out that for the simple edits I want "right now" for chopping off pre and post padding then TS Doctor from CYPHEROS on the NMT forum seems to do the trick quite well. Although it does "fixing" at the same time, it seems fairly quick.

hi - i used something called tscutter to remove the bits at the start and end of the .ts file so leaving just the main program. you can also use to to remove adverts. worked a treat for me and it's free (i think).

I think I'd tried tscutter but had problems with altered aspect ratios when playing back.
It may have been an earlier version though.
So far tsdoctor has worked for me for just chopping the padding off from the beginning and end. No adverts yet on BBC HD so no worry there for now Wink
