During Live Tv there is slight blurring of movements. Typically people walking or making body movements.
Faster movements become more blurred.
Recordings are much more blurred on even slow movements.

I have tried the recordings on another pc and the result is the same.
I have stuck to defaults as much as possible.

Is this hardware or a software setting i have got wrong?

My config is:

Hauppauge WinTv PVR2 usb connected to Pentium 4 - 3.0Ghz HP notebook, 1 gig ram, 80gig hdd, Radeon 9100 vga, win xp pro SP3.
GBPVR 1.3.11

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Does the blurring consist of a comb-like effect, as if the picture is split up into thin horizontal slices?

This is most likely due to how it is being deinterlaced

is your video card handeling deinterlacing, or is it handled by software, the preferred and best method would be hardware as in your video card.
HTPC Server: 2.3gh AMD Quad 9600, 4GB ram, 320gb HDD, 1TB HDD, and 750GB External USB HDD, NVIDIA GeForce 8600gt, Win 7 (32bit), (2x) HVR2250 using QAM

Client: AM2 5600, biostar 790GX (onbard HD3300), 4gb memory, Vista, LM remote mapping app, Acer Revo R3610 (Atom N330) Win 7, 785G (HD 4200), Win 7, 4gb ram

The blurring is vertically when there is quick movements. Normal slow movements are acceptable.
The blurring is quick and creates an impression of focus problems.

I dont know how de-interlacing is been handled or how to check.

Any suggestions?

Should i go off and build up a powerhouse computer with serious graphics adaptor?

Thanks in advance.

its the bullshit ati drivers turn off all acceleration on card then turn them back on one by one anitilaising or what ever its called
diplay setting/advanced (ati control centre)
only one you need to leave to turned on is >force wait for vertical sync
down grade your drivers may help aswell

buy a nvidia card
