I'm having a very similar issue. The program seems to run fine until I attempt to watch live TV. Then my whole system freezes (no mouse, no keyboard, frozen display, etc.). The only way to recover is by force-booting the machine. I'm getting the same "expired lease found" error in my recordingservice logs. I've attached that log.

Okay, I must have missed the part in the sticky about posting all logs. Sorry 'bout that. :o Here they are...

Does it happen if you record a program and try to play that recording? Also, try specifying the decoder to use for MPEG 2 video and audio and AC3 in config instead of leaving them on "System Default".

I haven't been able to try recording, because it locks my system up as soon as I attempt to watch TV. I've tried several combinations of MPEG 2 and AC3 decoders, but I get the same result. I click "Live TV" in the main menu, and my system simply stops responding. I know the device is working, because for about a half-second, I hear sound from the TV signal. But it freezes before it puts a picture up.

Try the following:

  1. Go to the TV Guide
  2. Select a current show
  3. Press Enter
  4. Select "Quick Record"
  5. Wait about a minute
  6. Press Enter on the show again
  7. Select "Cancel"
  8. Go to Recordings
  9. Select the recording and try to play it

Post back where/if it fails along with your logs.

Thanks for your help, whurlston. Smile

This yielded some interesting results. The process seemed to go fine until I attempted to play the recording. Again, I heard about a half-second of sound before my system irrecoverably locked-up. I attempted to play the recording in another media player on my system (VLC media player), and the video played, but without sound. So, I can think of three possible issues:
  • The channel/show is being recorded without sound.
  • The "player" component of GB/PVR is somehow malfunctioning.
  • GB-PVR is recording audio in a format unrecognizable to most MPEG decoders. VLC has codecs for pretty much everything, though, so I don't think this is the case.

I've attached the logs after a forced hot-reboot.

Yarr... There is sound when I watch the recording with VLC. I just didn't have my speakers turned on. :o

System still locks-up when trying to watch anything in GB-PVR, though.

Okay, I tinkered around with settings and got it to play live TV and recordings. I set the Video Renderer to "Overlay Manager." Apparently my computer can't do VMR9 or EVR. I also had to set the Video, Audio, and AC3 Decoders to InterVideo, MPEG, and InterVideo, respectively (none of the other options or combinations of options worked).

So, it's good that I can finally watch TV, but the video and audio is very un-synced (2-3 sec). Sometimes the audio is ahead of the picture, and sometimes it's the other way around. I'll search around for a solution to this, and I'll start a new thread if I can't find one, since it's a different problem.

Thanks for the help! Smile
