Hi all,

First post here as I'm in need of some expert help.

I've recently got myself a Pinnacle 3010iX DVB-T tuner card and I've not been able to get anything useful out of it, even when using Pinnacle's own software (maybe that's not so much of a surprise).

In all applications and tools I've tried, no channels are detected from the DVB-T source. On a new install of Windows 7 RC, I've tried Windows Media Centre, and on a new install of Windows XP, I've tried Pinnacle's TVCentre, the highly recommended GB-PVR, and in order to test things ScanChannelsBDA_UK, and none of them are able to detect digital channels.

I wondered if the card itself was just unable to tune to the DVB-T signals, but most promisingly the log files generated during the scan process in GB-PVR seem to suggest otherwise. I attach them in the hope that someone more familiar with the logs can spot the issue with my setup.

I'm using GB-PVR version 1.3.11. I should also point out that I have also tried the updated GBPVRTSReader.ax/GBPVRTSMon.ax/PsiParser.ax files from the v1.3.11 survival guide, but to no avail.

Because GB-PVR detected my card as a BlackGold BGT3540 during the config/tuning process (despite the drivers for 3010iX being installed), I have also tried with the BlackGold drivers (which the attached logs were generated with).

It seems that each of the carriers for my transmitter (Crystal Palace) are being correctly detected (with good strength and quality), but the Program Stream is not read or decoded correctly. Is there anything in the logs that give a clue to what's going wrong? I hope it's not the card.

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Unfortunately there isnt anything obvious in the log. It looks like it manages to lock some signals, but the device never delivers any data to the application.

It doesnt sound like a good sign that even the Pinnacle app wont find any channels.

Yes my feeling is that the card is broken. It looks as though the correct frequencies are being set as as the device appears to report a successful lock during scanning, but as sub has pointed out, it's just not getting any data from the stream.

Thanks for your help - time to send the card back I think.

You could try the Hauppauge tool linked below. It isn't really Hauppauge specific and I've found it works with all the DVB-T tuners I've tried it on with BDA drivers. It shows what frequencies and channels it can find.

I had a 7010x tuner (2xdvb-t and 2xdvb-s) but it didn't last for more than a month or so before it died on dvb-t and went very deaf on dvb-t.....
