What was the actual problem? I see the file was stopped and then deleted both from the remote and there doesn't seem to be any specific error, and then mvpmcx2 ran not doing anything for 12 hours, when I suspect you rebooted the server this morning.

I think I might have sent the wrong log. I will post logs again when I have time this weekend.

The problem is that the "seek" feature results in playback stopping completely and I am sent back to the recordings menu. It typically happens on recordings longer than 1 hour. It happens pretty regularly to me which leads me to believe I have something wrong with my configuration. Either that or I'm the only one trying to seek on recordings longer than 1 hour.

Can I just say that the updated pvrx2 from post nr 15 fixed a problem I only saw today with a DVB-T .ts recording showing a start and stop time of -2 hours 50-ish. Can skip through it ok now, whereas before the updated pvrx2 any skip jut went back to the beginning. Other than that it played OK.

thanks.

This is one reason I recommend using NMTInstall to update GBPVR patches. It keeps track of the patches I expect NMT users to have.

For me, the snag is your NMTinstall tool came after the early, tiresome way of doing things and I have changed my html scripts considerably. I like seeing M/S explorer asking about overwriting files and showing date and time of old and new to make sure that I really am updating forwards and not backwards. I would have hoped to have seen patches that fix things appear in the survival guide though. I suppose the question could be "when does a 'try this' patch become a required install?"

I shall re-investigate and changeover to NMTinstall when sub releases the new version.

That is why I separated the updates and scripts etc as much as I have.

NMTInstall has a date check. I though about a prompt but there are generally too many to ask

For me the rules is if it is in NMTInstall.xml it is required. You don't have to have use NMTInstall to install them but the files are also show with dates at http://www.mvpmc.org/~mvallevand/NMTInstall.xml

Posting logs again. As far as I know, I have the most recent versions of software installed (can you tell if I am missing any patches?).

This log should show that during the playback of Desperate Housewives the seek function was used to skip over some commercials at about 30-40 minutes into the video. Instead of seeking, the playback stopped completely and we were kicked back to the recordings menu. Once the recording was re-selected for playback the resume option was selected, but the file played from the beginning again (didn't successfully resume). We skipped back to the 40 minute mark and continued to watch the rest of the recording. I left the room at that point, but I don't think there were any issues after that.

Thanks for any help you can give.

The file is certainly good quality although when you restarted you missed what might have been a bad area by about 3 seconds, but your NMT clearly did not hang or need a reset which makes this a different problem then you described earlier. It looks like mvpmcx2 wasn't able to skip for an unknown reason (which I would need the debug log from the client side to invesitgate). The only reason this is even an issue for me was that for some reason GBPVR didn't set the proper resume location when the file stopped after the skip which sub would need to explain.

Where do I find the client-side debug log?

Sorry I was merging your problem with wpialum, (you both are reporting problems that really don't match the thread topic so it is confusing). Debug logs can be created using this approach http://forums.gbpvr.com/showpost.php?p=3...stcount=24
