I have one server PC one Client PC and one Popcorn Hour. After upgrading I am not able to record properly. The file gets created but the file size is 0 bytes. I am not sure what the problem is. Also I noticed that I can watch live TV from my server but not from the client or the PCH. I can watch show previously recorded on all three. I am not sure what is going on. I also noticed that on the server some of the channels do not have sound. I tried to remap the channels multiple times but there was no change. From the mapping page in the configuration the sound is fine on all channels. I am not sure what is up.

Help!

After reading your description, but before looking at the logs, I though - I bet he's using an HDHomeRun and his firewall isnt allowing GBPVRRecordingService.exe to access the HDHR across the network. I looked in your logs, and I see you're using an HDHomeRun, so I'm guessing thats the case.

I had a similar experience after upgrading. I assume it was working before the upgrade, so it shouldn't be the firewall.

I had to set the application in the HDHR setup program to "Other: ATSC/remap" instead of "GBPVR". There is also a "Other: ATSC/QAM" setting if you are using QAM.

I think the latest version of HDHR sets firewall permissions now. In fact the last 2 updates seemed to do this. Been trouble free for me.

I have the firewall turned off. I believe I even added the recording service as an exception in the firewall even though it is turned off. I will check that tonight.

That is true, it has been working for at least a year without a problem. I have not changed the firewall for sometime. I will try the "Other: ATSC/remap" setting and see what I get. Thanks!
Why does this fix this issue? I am not sure I understand but I will give it a shot.

Why?
Your guess is as good as mine. Let us know if this works for you.

That worked great. Again I am not sure why but now I can view live TV on my client machine, and the PCH. My recordings are working fine. Life is good again!

Thanks!Smile
