Nova S no channels on certain frequencies

Yes as per Martint123 I would agree that those other channels that it is locking onto appear on frequency 11681 not anywhere near to the frequency I'm after of 12523, very strange why it is locking onto this other frequency!

Not using any diseqc switch........

My scans give bogus duplicates at the end of the scan, the info from the last good channel is repeated several times on channels that don't have a signal.

Are we talking a problem here with the card and GBPVR? This would surprise me as this is pretty much the most heavily supported DVB-S card on GBPVR. I know signal strength is fine, have quad LNB and have swapped cables to Nova S for scans. Card and WinTV play fine on my 'missing' frequencies.

Just don't see why GBPVR and my Nova S aren't playing ball and why it appears that I am the only user to have this problem!

Guess if no answers and if the mighty Sub doesn't know then time for a new card?

Well I'm off to scan again on my NovaHD-s2 - I have a new ini.file from http://en.kingofsat.net/tv-28.2E.php - it's good to see that they have now combined Astra and Eurobird into the one 0285.ini file (attached). This time I will remove the existing scan.cache so there is less confusion about channels found

how did your scan go? I have been manually mixing Astra and Eurobird frequencies for a while now. Nice to see them altogether in an .ini! I note that the frequency I'm after is not included in this .ini. Weird 'cos I know it's there and works fine with my FireDTV device.

Sorry I posted that ini - it caused PVRX2 to either crash, or to scan through all the frequencies super-fast without finding any channels! I have removed it now. I have had this before with downloaded .ini's and never could work out what was wrong. I am never sure if the trailing comma and description make any difference i.e. ,DVB-S or ,S2. If you could post your 'mixed' .ini Steeb that would be most helpful...

I had a similar problem with a Nova S card. It did really weird things in the scan, often repeating previously scanned data where it should have found new channels.

It did the same whichever machine it was in, so it was obviously the card.

I got a replacement, which was fine.
