I updated my ffdshow filters (to ffdshow tryouts revision 2527) to solve another problem recently and now I can no longer play *.mkv files. I've attached my zipped config.xml and logs...can anyone see what I need to change to be able to play these files again?

GB-PVR plays no part in playback of .mkv files. It just asks windows to play them. There is no GB-PVR settings that will effect this.

My guess is that Windows cant find any decoder that play the file. This might be because you need to add "pvrx2.exe" to the list of allowed applications in the ffdshow settings.

Based on Sub's reply, I decided to try to find a new decoder that handles mkv files...installed MatroskaPack from http://www.free-codecs.com/Matroska_Pack_download.htm and all is good. I'm pretty sure the ffdshow decoders should have done this as the installation for MatroskaPack asked me if I wanted to download a newer version of the decoder pack and when I said yes, it directed me to the ffdshow web site. I ran the old MatroskaPack and just told it to skip the update. So, I'm using an older decoder, but all I ask is that it works...and now it does, so I'm not going to play with it any further...just wanted to post an update in case it can help someone else.
