Was everything working OK before you started playing about with the language file? Maybe start up pvrx2 and after it goes crash, bang, wallop, post your logs. Oh, and you definitely used notepad to change your Language.ENG.xml file?

More to the point - why are you still up at this time of night? Big Grin

That is indeed the 1st question! Wife just finished job with 1 week break and so we're off to Italy in 24 hours. I like a dutiful husband have decided to stay up and 'tweak' my Home PVR system, instead of packing bags, getting sleep etc....

No need for logs for me unless I think I've missed something silly and can share it with community. I just roll back to pre-GBPVR install with Acronis and start again. A bit of a pain but only takes about 15 mins to get running again.

Cheers

I lied, 15 mins to get basic set up back with latest GBPVR installed. Went to install a couple of plugins I use then errors again. Humph. Perhaps my wife can go away to Italy whilst I sort out these errors? Or perhaps I can go away to Italy whilst she sorts them out?

Or perhaps we'll go away together and I won't grab her at 2.00AM in my delirium and shout out ''GBPVR 1.4.7 ,you don't understand''

1.4.7. Has been a very stable build for me but a couple of plugins etc have behaved slightly more wildly than in the last 2 releases. I really should pack that bag.

Go back to your 'last known good configuration', pack your bag and p1$$ off to Italy - enjoy the Pasta, Pizza and valPolicelli - only 23 hours to go...Big Grin

I'm LOL 'ing lots on that 1. Yes GBPVR can wait, after all, only a few days without it. Just would have been nice to have looked in via Web Admin whilst I was away to see it was all as it should be!

Pasta, Pizza and Valpolicilla are waiting.

Think I'll shut down the server while I'm away then there's nothing I can do. Except grab my wife at 2.00AM and say, 1.4.7 you don't understand, it's my plugins!

Cheers

You don't really need to rename it but it would be useful just in case you ever decided to install another plugin called Weather.
Yes, that was what I meant. After re-reading my post, I see that it was vague. My bad Wink

When I want to "refresh" the language, I usually just run GBPVR's Config.exe and, without changing anything, hit Ok. Not sure if there's a better/neater way of doing it.

What I was getting at was that you can edit you language.xml, add whatever you want. As far I've found, any sort of character string used inside gbpvr can be altered/translated when added to the used language.xml.

Of course, a prior backup is always a safe way of ensuring we can undo the mess we're about get into. Big Grin

Not really bad or vague actually quite accurate.

Unless someone knows better I haven't found a better way unless altering something within config.exe itself and saving that file. So saving config would seem to work for most tweaks.

Admittedly I may have not played with this enough but using the ENG.xml this has not changed anything as I thought it would do. It used to about 2 years ago but haven't had good result here since then. Of course it may well be me doing something stupidly wrong.

This makes me smile a lot. I have learnt the art of back up only because I failed to do it so often and lost everything! Yes agree, back up everything possible!

Cheers
