What audio format do they use there? H.264 is the video format. Audio will be either MPEG1 Layer 2, AC3, E-AC3 or HE-AAC. This last format (HE-AAC) is used with our H.264 channels in NZ, and is not understood by the firmware in the PopcornHour (and your HDX1000), and you'd pretty much be out of luck unless you can convince the manufacturer to add support for the audio format. I hadnt read any comments indicating Denmark was using HE-AAC though, so it may be some other issue.

Are you saying you get audio if you play via the network broswer on your HDX1000, but not if you play through mvpmcx2 on your HDX1000. If thats the case, you should ask mvallevand to take a look.

Decoders on the PC will only effect playback on the PC.

Sorry that I was a bit unclear.

I have found some information from Danish TV and other sources indicating that the sound is HE-AAC for the H.264 channels in Denmark. So that could well be the problem with no sound. These channels are not the most important, but as Sweden will eventually go to H.264 it would be nice to sort this out.

The problem with playbackis basically that I get only black screen (and no sound) when trying either a recording or live TV from GBPVR. The same file is viewable from the network browser but with no sound. I could do some more testing if there is some thing that could benefit others.

Well for a moment I hoped that paying for the HD version of WinTV7 would add some magic piece of software.

Thanks for the help.

If you're lucky Sweden will go with H.264+AC3 instead of HE-AAC audio. When it comes to HE-AAC audio on the HDX1000 (and PopcornHour etc), GB-PVR as no control over this - the hardware just wont play it unless the manufacturer adds support for this audio format.

I assume you're still talking about on the HDX1000 (not the PC). If so, then you should post the question in the mvpmcx2 forum (http://forums.gbpvr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=39) and Martin should be able to tell you why the video isnt showing up when you attempt to view on HDX1000 via GB-PVR. Regardless though, if its got HE-AAC audio, then you're out of luck for hearing anything on this device.

I actually have read a few posts about people with satellite boxes that won't work in Denmark because of HE-AAC http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellite/te...e-aac.html I've been waiting to get a sample so NewUseriIdAgrain post a 50MB sample on megaupload and I can check it out.

As sub wrote, I will be happy to help you out with the playback on the mvpmcx2 sub-forum.

I got two recordings from the Danish television new H.264 channels. these are fairly big but I will try to capture some some shorter clips later to night and create a megaupload account.

I will follow your recommendations and buy the HD Wintv7 cd from the hauppauge website.

I now have the mux 1 (MPEG2) working fine on the T-500 card, but when scanning for channels i do not see any of the MPEG4 channels. This is probably because i havent installed the H.264 and HE-ACC codecs that these channels use.

Now my question: Will i be able to record both the MPEG2 and MPEG4 channel at the same time or will i have to reconfigure one of the tuners ?

I have noticed that the bda.ini for my T-500 have entries that references to "MPEG2 Transport".

H.264 channel (MPEG4) are broadcast in an MPEG2 transport stream.

Regardless though, that pin name in the bda.ini file could have been anything. The manufacturer could have named it "Cheese" instead of "MPEG2 Transport" if they wanted to.
