In config, I think you can enter a frequency for a station in place of a channel number for fine tuning.??

Is this also possible somehow for the fixed RF frequency when using RF from a STB to the PVR150 ??? Looking in teh logs it just appears to send a request with teh channel number. I'm getting some weak wavy lines and with wintv I can use the finetune bar to shift the tuning very slightly and it goes away (mostly).

I'm intrugued by this. Think I may have missed something I could have done with my PVR 150 some years ago? So no helpful stuff from me here just watching!

I've only ever used composite in from STB but could I have done something with RF on TV channels!

Cheers

I doubt that you missed much. The composite output from the STB would probably be better quality than the RF output.

You can enter the frequency in the channel-tab if you want. It has to be the full number I think. In my config it looks like this:

Hans

Edit: I just noticed the Disney channel, it must be wrong, the frequency can't be right.:o. I never use it so I never noticed it.

If you picture my layout (prior to DVB-T/S)

Analogue aerial on roof down to Sky box on ground floor in TV viewing room.
Output of RF2 of the Sky box back upstairs to the PVR150 in the shack.

Doing it this way I had all the terrestrial analogue channels available on the PVR150 and the RF out of the Sky box. This is where you configure a source that uses a fixed RF channel to tune it in. By using RF2, I can also use a digieye and the PVR150 blaster to send channel changes back down the coax to RF2.

Worked well for a long time and good quality after a lot of experimenting with RF output frequency.

But you can't do it for the fixed channel - although just having done the screen grab, I think the box will accept more digits than it looks like. I will try later when I'm at that machine.

I'm pretty sure you can feed a frequency into that box and it'll do what you expect.

Indeed, it looks like you can, although extremely tedious shifting a few kHz and checking over and over again. Worth the effort though to get rid of the slight background pattering.
