Sorry, I dont really see me changing this. I'm happy with the current scheme.

If you've got the occasional recording that you really want the padding to always applied, then schedule a manual recording and specify the time you want it to start and stop.

No sweat, thanks for the reply.

I hadn't thought of manual recording. How is the recording named? Does it use the program name/description for the program that starts at the same time as the manual recording, or does it use a generic name of some sort? If it picks up the program name and description, that would work really well for me. Otherwise, I think I'll stick with my current system.

Here's an application I use to keep my computer clock spot on. You can set it to any country/time zone/time server and have it correct your clock at regulat intervals.

With a manual recording you can enter the name to be used in the recording. It defaults to the channel name (which then has the date/time appended to the filename when the recording starts), but as mentioned can be set to whatever you want.

I know you said "no" to this request, but I'll chime in a vote for "yes". Same reason, I like to have padding for sports shows, and often a non-critical recording (rerun) supercedes my padding without me knowing. A forced post-padding time would be a good option sometime in the future.

Thanks
Chuck
