You get this on most PVRs I think, where the GUI will show you what the colour buttons do, i.e. in the Guide;

------------------------------------------------------
| (b) +24 hours (g) -24 hours (y) view  ® auto-record |
------------------------------------------------------

Where b=blue,g=green,y=yellow,r=red. Also make sure the 4 buttons have a use in most screens. I am sure I could trawl through the user instructions to work out what they do, but it would be alot better having this.

Also I have a 28inch tv, but the fonts are too small to see easily. Is there some way to make them bigger. I started using the flat blue hi vis skin whichs helps a little on the menus, but not on the tv guide.

I know you americans (and possibly nz'ers) all have huge 50inch screens, but we brits tend to make do with 28inchs or so.

you can do this yourself, just edit the skins so they show the button functions.

Okay I guess I am asking for a 'big font skin with colour button mappings' then.

But it would also be nice to have the 'button mapping' on the live-tv/playback OSD.

I might give it a go if I get the time - and get GB-PVR working ofc. The live-tv/pvr-350 problem is too big a problem for me to use it really atm.

I am currently waiting for the PVR-350 issue to be fixed, because I hide the cable remote and use GB-PVR exclusively.

For now I am just using it to schedule recordings.

Also on my wish/request - a new skin wont cut it, I dont think. Sure I can change the background picture and increase font size, but really I want to increase the whole size of the TvGuide listing, as if I increase font size it will be clipped too much I think.

Gonna have a look at 'Digital Plus 15 - TV Guide' plugin and see if thats a bit better size-wise than the standard.

Will report back.

The Video Archive plugin does this very well - makes good use of all the colour buttons (at the expense of mouse clickability), and has an on-screen colour-coded legend. I'd love to see this in the default skin.

Thanks MattDub, thats exactly what I meant regarding the colour buttons;

, although I would still like a slightly larger font.

That screen shot is of an older version of the Flat Blue High Visibility - Orange, which has updated most of the plug-ins to use large text. I've since update the skin for the Video Archive plug-in to make the text 19 point Arial Narrow. That is quite big; so big that I can read it from across the room without my glasses. You might want to download that skin and give it a try. I don't think the text can get much bigger without being so big that the words will no longer fit in the space available to them.

I am already using the non-orange version, and assume the orange is the only difference.

What size TV do you have?
