Prevent duplicate recordings based on EPG description

In the UK many channels repeat the same programme several times throughout the day.

It would be useful to have the option (on a recording by recording basis to allow for shows that have different episodes with the same description) to prevent duplicate recordings by having the option to verify the EPG description against already recorded / scheduled recordings to ensure that only one was recorded.

How do the unique id's look in your database? If they are they same they are treated as duplicates and won't get recorded using recurring rules?

Unfortunately my listings are a bit hit and miss in this regard with a mix of UK OTA DVB and UK_RT XMLTV listings. Some channels appears to have unique ids per episode whereas other channels have each airing of the same episode with different ids which means the recurring rules don't catch the duplicates.
