Hi,

I reinstalled Windows (it's been a while). I am trying something a little different this time around. I wanted to use the QAM's on my two HVR-1600 cards (well, actually I'd be fine trying just 1 for starters). Anyway, I think things are going okay so far (thanks to the websites) except any time I try to watch a channel (doesn't matter if it's digital or analog) my video crashes - hard. Crazy patterns and colors, followed by a VPU recovery. I haven't changed my hardware really (same video card). I'm sure I don't have some tweaks and decoders and stuff that I used to have, I was just trying to get the basics working.

My event viewer has this message (may be from the previous crash).
0000000001: 2009-12-20 18:40:57:343 iDEMVPURecoverInfo.GetDriveDumpData failed: -1
Error Called by: ATI.ACE.CLI.Aspect.VPURecover.Graphics.Runtime.RT_VPURecover::GetDriveDumpData processID:01884 threadIDSad ) domainNameSadcli.exe ) assemblyNameSadCLI.Aspect.VPURecover.Graphics.Runtime, Version=1.2.2314.20245, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=90ba9c70f846762e)
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.

The failure is pretty catastrophic, I can't run GBPVR at all afterwards (don't get any video, although it's running - I can blind-exit).

I am going to attach my logs and then look through the forums a little bit.

Thanks!!

I'd have to guess it's caused by either your video drivers or possible the video decoder, so start by trying other decoders and/or video renderers, then start looking for different versions of the video drivers.

Try reinstalling or updating your video card drivers.

Edit: sub beat me to it.
