Hi!

I seem to remember that gbpvr automatically synced with the recordings, i.e if you remove recordings on the file system gb-pvr's database should sync up with that. It does not now for me... Those recodings have no play button, only a delete.

There is an option in the config.xml file to control this behaviour. It is not immediate either, a little time is needed to get to it's housekeeping time.

<AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>true</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>

Ahh thanks!

I had this option in my former setup, but lost it when I reinstalled.

Thanks a lot!

Yes, I think it is a major piece of functionality that should either be on by default or be visible as an option in one of the misc tabs in config.

I think that Sub's reason to not enable it by default is that if gb-pvr does not see the recordings by some reason (maybe they are on a USB disk that just happened to be switched off), the DB reference is deleted and cannot be restored. So there is a risk in using it.

I'm not sure about now, but the default previously was true. There used to be a number of posts about missing recordings with folk using USB drives and also when moving recordings onto a new, bigger drive. So maybe the default has changed now??

It supposed to be 'true' by default.

Well in my config, this option was missing. And the default for it (as missing) seems to be false as all old recordings was still in DB. Now that it is explicity in config and set to true, all old recordings are removed.

As said, I reinstalled from scratch recently so I should have a config that is a default one. But of course I have been editing it somewhat, so it is possible that I messed up something. I don't think so though...

I've just looked at a recent install to a VM and it is shown as <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>false</AutoRemoveMissingRecordings>

And I'm pretty sure it hasn't changed on that system.

p.s. is seems to be false in the config-master.dont-edit-me.xml file as well.

Yes, I know. It is supposed to be 'true', but was 'false' when I packaged up 1.4.7. I fixed it for the next release a few days later.

Upgraded setups would still have 'true'. New setups would have 'false'.
