Yes, I know there are options like HIP, but they are all a pain in the neck to get going right. The MCE remote is the only real standard and should get the best support.

I'd like to see buttons such as Radio, Music, Pictures etc. fully supported natively.

i thought it already worked like that as long as you have the standard eh driver installed (select mce remote in settings)
but i guess now people have moved onto windows 7 then i think things have changed a little
i use hip because i control more than gbpvr

the mce remotes are not even manufactured anymore so there will be less chance of people using them from now on

but there are vista and win7 remotes out now...so they can't be defunct...
they use same setup just more buttons/diff. layout..
does the native blasting work in win7? or the remote?

Yes MCE remotes of all versions should be the standard!

I know the "TV Guide" button is supported but that and the other buttons mentioned are pretty much useless to anyone with Media Center installed (Vista/Win7) since Media Center responds to them and launches whenever they are pressed.

Yeah, the main issue with MCE remotes is that I have no way to stop Media Center from responding to key presses.

Disable the Media Center service.

That would interfere with the MCE bridge tuner than I'm working on for when the new Silicondust and Ceton OCURs comes out, so not an option for me. The Media Center services will need to be running to record from the OCUR.
