You're probably right. I have no 4:3 TVs or monitors left in this house, so I never test with 4:3. I'll try to make any effort tweak it in a future release if you guys want to let me know exactly where you see clipping.

I will post some screenshots tomorrow for comparison (if someone else hasn't beaten me to it) & from what I have seen even on a 16:9 monitor if you select 4:3 in settings & a 4:3 resolution & don't go full screen it will display stuff fairly close to what is seen on a 4:3 TV

I notice you also have a minor rendering bug with 5 items enabled. It looks fine when scrolling to the right (ie, pressing the right arrow, so items move right-to-left), but when scrolling left-to-right the left-most item blinks out completely as it moves, then appears again in the next position. I didn't realize until reading this thread that it might have anything to do with the number of items, but sure enough when I enable a 6th item it looks fine scrolling either way.
