So far am impressed with NPVR (don't mind the name, don't mind that it's a beta and things are not 100% etc). is good work Sub - massive potential as it seems to be much 'lighter'.

After setting up, i can't get UK DVB-T to work and not sure where the BDA GBPVR equivalent folder is? I have updated Wintel Hill settings but not sure if they'll work with NPVR or where to put them?

Also, the menu animation seems a bit jerky? If this is expected, then not a problem but it was something I saw in GBPVR then PVRX2 after the PC had been up for a few days and a reboot would sort it (I could even gauge uptime of the PC depending upon the menu animation which was quite handy sometimes!!!). NPVR seems to have jerky menus from the off!

Also, my PVR150 isn't detected but have seen a thread about that somewhere.
Cheers

if you're on Windows 7 (or Vista too I think) the NPVR data defaults to c:\users\public\npvr.

on XP it's something like c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\npvr

in either case theres a registry setting in HKLM/Software/NPVR for the path.

as far as I've seen all the BDA tuning files are the same for NPVR as they were for GB-PVR, though I've only looked at the ATSC files.

Funny what you mention about the menu scroll, I noticed that too with PVRX2: always smooth as silk right after a reboot, then growing choppiness as time went on until another reboot. On NPVR I've not had any similar problem though, so I can't comment further.

For analog devices to be listed, you need to have the SoftPVR package, or at least the multiplexer in it installed, search for HCW_ in the support forum and you'll find more info.

I was aware this could happen over a few days with PVRX2 (due to leaked Direct3D textures), but that doesnt happen in NPVR, and it wouldnt have been from startup either - so cant be that. Can you try starting the app, then just holding down the right key for 30 seconds, then post the npvr.log? There is a message that logs the frame renderer rate of your PC.

What video card do you have?

If you enable the 'Animations wait for VSync' setting on the General settings page, does it help?

sorted - i wrongly assumed the directx install wasn't needed (as i'm using windows 7) and installing this has fixed the scroll problem. and the tuning is now good.
brilliant - npvr is great and is so much better to configure than gbpvr (no disrespect there though).
i will def move over to this once i've got the recordings/tuners(pvr150) done.
thanks!
