This is my first time trying WebRadio; I downloaded and installed the 3.1 base and the 3.0 add-on file today. Everything looked fine when it installed, but I get a .net exception as soon as I select WebRadio from the NPVR main menu, as in the attached file.

Did I miss something on the install? It looked like all there was to do was run the installer.

Thanks for any help.

edit: nothing appears in the NPVR log other than "Init WebRadio". Is there a log somewhere for WebRadio I should provide?

Could I see your npvr.log file too?

Sure, I probably should have just attached it in the first place rather than dismissing it... as you can see though it doesn't show much of interest. All I did was launch NextPVR.exe and then try to launch WebRadio twice.

Thanks, it's odd that see the Init's twice but the missing line gives me a clue. Do you have GB-PVR on this machine or more importantly do you have a HKLM\Software\devnz Registry entry that doesn't include the "GBPVR InstallDir" key.

I have uninstalled GB-PVR, but I suppose there may be registry keys still left from it. Should I simply delete any remaining HKLM\Software\devnz keys, or do you need something specific set in that key? I have no plans to go back to GB-PVR (it's N-PVR or bust as far as I'm concerned).

If the key is there it assumes with no error checking that the GBPVR InstallDir key is there (this is used to located the old saved stations from GBPVR) Renaming it should get you further.

ok, I'll do that as soon as my wife can be torn away from watching a re-run of House she's seen a dozen times...

Better than Bridal Shows, but we won't go there.

Yep, that was it. The HKLM\Software\devnz key was there, but didn't have much in it and certainly no InstallDir. So I just deleted the whole devnz key, and WebRadio starts right up.

Thanks Martin, it looks good. Everything I had with NetRadio plus tons more, and a nicer interface.

Thanks, and also thanks for the info. You found one of the traps in trying to have apps coexist. I've got the fix in for the next version.

As for House, I bet they tried all kinds of things, House was cranky and then at the end he finally is able to come up with the diagnosis.
