What card for Dish Network HD box output?

So I am thinking about switching to Dish Network satellite instead of cable. My set up now is an HVR1600 and a PVR150. I get analog and clear QAM without using a STB.

As far as I know the satellite receiver only outputs HD thru component video out and HDMI out. What cards work as this kind of input with GBPVR?

The HD-PVR is the only option, component for now but sub says he might be supporting a future HDMI version from Hauppauge. However I wouldn't bother doing this in GBPVR, NPVR supports it much better.

The Hauppauge HDPVR is the only thing you can use to record HD.

I don't have HD yet, so I use PVR150's for my DirecTV STBs.

Don't throw out the HVR1600 though - I switched to a similar set up and built a gray-hoverman antenna to get high def locals using the 1600 while using an HD PVR for satellite HD

I won't get rid of my 1600's, I am recording HD clear QAM from the cable and will keep them for antenna'd HD local channels after the switch to Dish network.

I was looking at NPVR but it doesn't have SchedulesDirect support yet, and I just re-upped my subscription last month, so I need to wait for that before I will move away from GBPVR.

Does the HDPVR record to disk on the PC or on the HDPVR?

You can use XMLTV and get your listings via SD with it, and then just import the XML file into NPVR. If you want to go that route.

It records to your PC, just like your PVR150 and HVR1600. The HDPVR is just like other capture cards, except it has component connections, and it connects to your PC via USB.

It's more complicated, but you could use a Genpix tuner and a direct card interface and rule out the DISHNET receiver all together.
