Jaggy Wrote:It is not quite as simple as that, first off I don't know if NextPVR knows about the padding after a recording is done & then there is also the credits (sometimes a lot of credits on some films) that I for one don't watch that has to be taken into account as well.
One thought I have had as well as some educated guess that NextPVR uses would be a user over ride key to toggle it from one to the other, then even if you had only watched 1/2 of it but weren't going to watch the rest the others (in my case the wife) would know you had finished watching it.

I did not imply that it was simple to solve, what I said was that my suggestion would be a simple solution to a complex matter. Quick and dirty if you like, but not 100% covering all possible scenarios. Smile

+1 on the viewed state on video library and recordings.

With one addition, that the filename, only and not the full path, is what is checked for played. Meaning if a file was moved, it could still be listed as played.

How about a number from 0 to 9 to indicate number of tenths watched? Would be a good % indicator and wouldn't take up any more space.

+1 to have an indicator for completely watched (or at least an option to show these as watched as opposed to not watched). Right now the only way I know how to handle these is by going into an "unwatched" file and if it has the "Unwatch" option I know I watched it all.

I don't know how flexible the screens are, but how about using the background colour of the recording name as a sort of bar graph of the percentage watched.
("watched" being not so easy - I guess it is "position last displayed at stop, pause, crash or whatever")

I think this would be the best solution, I almost never watch the whole recording since I have to have 8 mins of post padding (due to some channels notoriously late to start shows), but the actual show mostly ends 7-8 mins before the next show starts because of the commercials, add 8 mins of post padding to that and the result is that a half hour show ends at 90% of the recording.

My issues isn't so much knowing what percentage has been watched, for the most part that is irrelevant, it is the fact that fully played shows look the same as unwatched. I'd like a new indicator when the duration - saved position is less than end-padding.

Yep, that's a problem when I occationally watch the whole show.

I 3rd this. It would be great to have this with recorded tv and videos. At least the watched part, i never even thought about the partially watched, which is a great idea.
