I receive some channels via DVB-T and DVB-S. However in the TV guide they get given different channel numbers. Is it possible to merge the channels together and use the DVB-T epg data?

Easy Wink

Go to the channels bit of setup and highlight the channels you want merging with control+left mouse then right-click the mouse and select merge.

I may have this slightly wrong - maybe it is highlight a channel, right click, select merge and then what you want to merge it with......but you get the drift.
I remember the first method as I was merging 2xdvb-t and 2xdvb-s all at the same time.
Backup your database, as there is no de-merge. The only way is to delete from devices and create again. In fact, once merged, you have no indication as to what channels are included in the resultant channel unless you peep in the database directly..

(how is your weather?, about a foot deep here)

Cheers. I figure out how to back up the database and I will give it a go.

Theres about 7 inches of snow in York and as I work at Scarborough and Beverley i've took the day off.

I receive DVB-T from emley more but I can only get half the channels (ITV4, fiveus etc) are all stuttery probably due the the snow on the Ariel.

I been meaning to set up freesat for ages so I thought I would give it ago today. I can't be arsed to set up DVBguide so I just use the DVB-T epg.

Again Many thanks

But if you have a lot of channels it will take a LONG time to update the epg from dvb-t. If you take the trouble setting up DVBGuide if scans only once for each frequency needed.

(Here we have a few cemtimeters of snow and 17 celsius below freezing).

NextPVR also only scans once per frequency. It spends one minute on each freqency that has (one or more) channels.

DVBGuide takes about 5 minutes for the Freeview channels (same as NPVR), but it can do the Freesat channels in just 30s, as all the info is on a single transponder (somewhere).

I'm pretty sure I'v seen NPVR scan once for every channel (SID).

I've definitely not seen that, and no reports of it other than you in the past. If you post the logs, I'm happy to be proven wrong and take a look.

Since I do not use dvb-epg anymore there's nothing to see in my logs, but I trust you know better that me since you wrote the software Big Grin
