Direct Time Skip Issue

sub....in 2.03 (maybe earlier versions as well) I am noticing when I enter a direct skip amount that the timeline does not align to what was entered.

For instance....I start playing a recording on the PCH and enter 42 and skip to go to 42 minutes into the recording.

NPVR does skip to the correct time but when I click on the info button and the timeline it shows the amount of time that the recording has been playing.....

So....if I hit 42 skip and watch for 6 minutes the recording goes to 42 minutes into the recording but the timeline shows 6 minutes.

UJB, right from the beginning the timeline for Hawaii Five-0_20110214 seems messed up. Could you upload the first 100MB somewhere.

Also could you send the Timing.Info file for the file. One way to create it is

more < filename.ts:Timing.Info > Timing.Info

From the date on the file, I'm guessing that this recording was not created with 2.0.3. So UJB may be suffering from the same problem that I was with "bad recording files." (Especially since Hawaii Five-0 is one of them that I had problems with quite often.) 2.0.3 seems to have fixed the problems with playback and the timeline on the PCH, but only for recordings both recorded and played with 2.0.3. When I play recordings made with earlier version, I still have problems with the timeline being wrong, skippping not working properly, etc.

I did look into this (I had already deleted the recording) and it does in-fact appear to be a timeline issue in the file since I haven't been able to duplicate in other recordings as of yet. I even checked my Five-O recording I did on 2-21 and it is behaving as it should as well (would have been recorded with 2.02 beta NPVR).

Thanks for the update UJB. When there is a major problem with a timeline in a ts file I do expect it on the pre or post padding area, so if you do have a problem, be sure to keep the file, or at least the first and last 100-200MB, and I will see what I can do with it.

I have made a note to remind myself not to delete the recording if other similar issues arise.....thanks.
